Natural remedies for dementia & Alzheimer's disease - what have you tried? (Saffron, Turmeric, Cocon

23 Aug 2016 @ 18:02PM

I am interested to hear from anyone who has tried any natural remedies for dementia / Alzheimer's disease, particularly the following ones:
A. Saffron
B. Turmeric (+ black pepper?)
C. Coconut butter/oil
D. Personalized music therapy

There is now some decent clinical evidence (much of it in full-on "randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled" medical trials) that now show that some of the herbs/natural remedies do actually work.

- For turmeric see
- For saffron see:

I understand that the medical evidence for Coconut butter is rather weak, however anecdotally I have heard surprisingly strong evidence.

- For music therapy see:

- What were the original symptoms?
- Exactly what what diagnosed, how long ago and how far had it progressed?
- How has it progressed since? (i.e. what change has there been in symptoms?)

- What treatments have you tried ? (including the above)

- Did you try a combination of treatments?
- Did you try a ketogenic diet too?
- Did you try avoiding acid-forming foods?
- Did you try mostly eating anti-inflammatory foods?

With thanks
